Researchers from various organisations and universities attended this training that is part of the capacity-building component of our high-risk wildlife surveillance in Malaysia, partnering local government authorities on biosurveillance in wildlife, human and domestic animals. This training is also to improve the human capacity of wildlife viral surveillance in the country.
Details on the training includes zoonotic diseases of bat, rodent, small mammals, and non-human primates, biosafety and PPE, human safety, lab safety, safe animal capture and sampling - non-human primate, rodent, bat and small mammal, implementing a cold chain for safe sample transport, safe sampling of ectoparasites from rodent and small mammals, risk assessment training, wet lab on PPE, spills training and mask fit test, and sampling demonstration and practical.
We would like to thank Mr. Jimmy from EcoHealth Alliance for organizing this wonderful workshop and Dr. Khoo Jing Jing from Universiti Malaya for inviting us to attend this workshop.
