TAMA ABU SCIENTIFIC EXPEDITION (HOB) 2017

Tama Abu Scientific Expedition, Heart of Borneo (HOB) was held from 13th August to 27th August 2017 organized by Sarawak Forest Department with a few beneficiaries aims. Our main concern is on the diversity of fauna especially the small mammals which includes chiropterans, shrew, rodents and also primates.

Four members from our lab together with Dr Faisal and Dr Haliza from University Malaysia Sabah had joined the team for this expedition despite of their busy schedule. The passion we had on bats and other small mammals enable us to collect few chiropteran species and a rodent.

Precious experiences have been gained throughout this comprehensive expedition at where variety of flora and fauna have been documented for the better management and conservation of the forest. Last but not least, extraordinary moments were also created among the participant of this scientific expedition throughout the state of Sarawak and we able to exchange the knowledge from different field of studies.
